“It’s one of my failures,” Goodman admitted of his marriage to The Guardian in 2012. “I’ve given everything my all, but I know the underlying cause is on my end. My worst flaw is that I’m too interested in satisfying my own desires. With Sue [his third wife], I’ve been working to alter that.”
The difficulty with dying, Goodman, who was 67 at the time of the interview, told the site, “is that everyone believes you were wonderful. I hope people see me as someone who is genuinely kind. I hope that someday there will be individuals who can say, Len! Oh yeah, he had a lot more good in him than evil.”
