Lars was born to affluent parents in Gentofte, Denmark on December 26th, 1963. Torben Ulrich, Ulrich’s father, was a famous tennis player from the ’40s through the ’80s. Torben was also a jazz musician who shared the stage with legends like Stan Getz, Miles Davis, and the late, great Dexter Gordon. Lars’s father paid for a group of five to see Deep Purple perform at a stadium in Copenhagen when Lars was 9 years old.
Lars came up because one of his father’s invited guests had to cancel at the last minute. Following the show, Lars bought their CD “Fireball” and listened to it nonstop. At the age of 12, he received his first drum set. Since then, he was inclined towards the music industry.

How Rich Is Lars Ulrich?
Celebrity Net Worth estimates the fortune of Danish musician, producer, and composer Lars Ulrich at $350 million. With such wealth, Lars Ulrich easily surpasses all of Metallica’s other bandmates.
Thanks to wise investments in real estate and artwork, he is marginally wealthier than his fellow band founder, James Hetfield. When Metallica were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009, Lars was the first Dane to win this accolade. He is also one of the world’s wealthiest drummers.
Lars Ulrich Has Said That He Reads Fan Reviews Of Metallica On The Internet
Lars Ulrich, drummer for Metallica, has been seen reading fan reviews. Ulrich admitted in a recent interview with Metal Hammer that he periodically checks out fan reactions to the band’s work on social media. He mentioned reading fan reactions to the band’s surprise comeback single “Lux terna” online while doing the interview.
He said: “If you decide to go down into the comment sections, at least for me, you have to prepare yourself for not taking any of it overly personally. You have to kind of remove yourself from it. But I’d like to challenge anybody in a band to say they don’t look at comments.

“I mean, I’m not sitting up until four o’clock in the morning scrolling through every one,” he continued. “But when you haven’t put any music out in five or six years and you dump something like ‘Lux Æterna’ on an unsuspecting world, you’re going to want to see what the feedback is.”
A new Metallica album, ’72 Seasons,’ and a massive global tour were both announced last year.
Next week, on April 14, the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Hardwired… To Self-Destruct’ will be released, and the European leg of the metal icons’ world tour, which includes the previously confirmed headlining roles at Download Festival, will begin.
In a press statement, frontman James Hetfield explained the meaning behind the title of the band’s upcoming new album, “72 Seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves. The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are.”
“I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is reenactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”
Starting in Amsterdam on April 27, 2023, Metallica’s world tour will make stops in Paris, Hamburg, and Gothenburg during May and June before heading to North America. The second phase of the tour will take place in Europe during the months of May, June, and July of 2024, and will be followed by additional North American dates.
Metallica will begin their Jimmy Kimmel Live! engagement next week, as was just reported. Live performances by the band will take place each night from Monday, April 10 through Thursday, April 13 in anticipation of the release of their upcoming album, ’72 Seasons.
“In a first for the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show, it’s ‘Metallica Week,’ as we will be the musical guest each night, beginning on Monday, April 10, through Thursday, April 13,” the group wrote on social media.
“We’ll be playing live for all four shows, and you’ll also catch us on the couch, chatting with Jimmy one night. Keep your eyes peeled for other sightings during the broadcast, as we really don’t know what else Jimmy will get us involved in!”
