How to See Unsent Messages on Messenger

Is it possible to unsend or resend a Facebook Messenger message?

If that’s the case, you’ll be out of luck seeing it in the future. This is because Messenger permanently deletes any message that has been unsent. One must, however, choose “Unsend for Everyone” rather than “Unsend for you” in order to cancel the message for everyone.

This function is very much like WhatsApp’s “Delete for Everyone” feature. Here, you’ll find instructions for accessing and reading unread messages on Messenger for iOS and Android (with or without an app).

How to see unsent messages on Messenger

Download “Notisave” from the Google Play store to view draughts of Messenger messages. This program will automatically preserve your Messenger chats and status updates. The alerts you see in your notification bar will be automatically saved.

You may also perform a system-wide search across all of your apps’ alerts at once. Notisave works with Messenger and similar apps to automatically save chat history, including recent messages, photos, and status updates.

The steps to saving your work with Notisave are as follows:

  1. Download Notisave on Google Play.
  2. Allow access to notifications by turning on “Notisave”.
  3. Allow Notisave to access your photos, media, and files.
  4. Tap on the three dots followed by “Settings”.
  5. Tap on “Save notifications”.
  6. Turn on “Messenger”.

When “Messenger” is on, any new messages received in the Messenger app will be archived in Notisave. So if somebody unsends a message to you on Messenger, you can view it in the Notisave app. You may put this to the test by sending a message to your own phone from another device and then erasing it shortly after sending it.

Be aware that Messenger alerts must be turned on for this to take effect. Notisave cannot archive your Messenger alerts until you do so. Notisave can be downloaded through Google Play, however it is currently only compatible with Android smartphones. It’s not on Apple’s app store for iOS devices.

How to see unsent messages on Messenger

By activating “Notification history” in Messenger’s preferences, you can view draughts without downloading an app.  Any Messenger communications you receive will be preserved in this manner before being deleted. Be aware that this is only compatible with certain models of Android phones. This is due to the fact that the “Notification history” feature is not available on all Android devices.

To activate “Notification history,” follow these steps:

  1. Go to your settings.
  2. Tap on “Notifications”.
  3. Tap on “Advanced settings”.
  4. Select “Notification history”.
  5. Turn on “Notification history”.

Unsent messages on Messenger can now be viewed in the notification history. Choose “Messenger” if you’ve enabled “Notification history” in the past. Once you click on “Messenger,” you’ll be able to view your past notifications sent through that app.

All of your recent and draught Messenger messages are included. When you turn on “Notification history,” you will no longer be able to view unsent messages in Messenger. In its place, you’ll only be able to see messages that haven’t yet been sent.

That’s because Messenger doesn’t keep a record of your draughts. Bear in mind that this won’t work on iOS devices because they lack the “Notification history” function. Another caveat is that the “Notification history” feature isn’t available on all Android devices. You can use the “Notisave” app in its place if you don’t already have it.

Conclusion

If you choose “Unsend for Everyone” on Messenger, any unsent messages will be removed permanently. However, the aforementioned strategies will still allow you to observe them. The aforementioned techniques all rely on your notifications history to allow you to access unsent messages.

The “Notisave” app and the “Notification history” function both record the times and dates when you received notifications. So, make sure that you have alerts enabled for Facebook Messenger. Access this feature by going to the “Settings” menu > Notifications > All apps > Messenger > Turn on notifications.

When you do this, the “Notisave” app will be able to store any messages you get in Messenger. If someone were to send you a message on Messenger, for instance, the app would record that interaction as a notification. If the other party unsends or deletes the message, you can still view it in the “Notisave” app or your notification history.
