What Caused The De@th Of Halyna Hutchins?
The terrible events that led to her de@th were precipitated by the activation of a prop weapon. Santa Fe County officials issued a statement on Thursday, October 20 confirming Halyna’s untimely de@th, which occurred shortly before 2 p.m. PST.
“Two people were sh0t on the set of the western film Rust,” according to the Santa Fe County sheriff’s office.
The department stated, “According to investigators, it appears the scene being filmed involved the use of a prop firearm when it was discharged. Detectives are investigating how and what type of projectile was discharged.”
The statement continued: “One shooting victim, a 42-year-old female, was transported via helicopter to University Of New Mexico Hospital. The Sheriff’s office has confirmed she succumbed to her injuries.”

The New Mexico District Attorney filed formal charges against Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
NewsNation’s Brian Entin also used Twitter to break down the story. The family of Halyna, who was ki!!ed in a “reckless” sh00ting on the set of the 2022 film Rust, filed a lawsuit against Baldwin on February 15, 2022.
It is alleged in the lawsuit that Baldwin and the other defendants “failed to perform industry-standard safety checks and follow basic weapon safety rules while using actual weapons to produce the movie Rust, with fatal consequences.” In October 2021, the Sun revealed exclusively that Baldwin might face civil charges related to the filming.

Who Exactly Aas Halyna Hutchins?
Before her untimely d*mise, Halyna contributed to a number of films, including The Mad Hatter and Darlin’. She has nearly 30 credits as a cinematographer on IMDb, where she is listed as working in the industry. Halyna had also performed in and directed two short films before. Most of her work was on short films, and Snowbound was her first full-length film as a cinematographer.
