Gilded Age Cast

Who All Rounds Up The Cast Of The Gilded Age? Everything We Currently Know Is Detailed Here!!

Updates on HBO’s The Gilded Age suggest that the historical drama created by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes has already been renewed for a second season. HBO’s blockbuster series The Gilded Age has captivated viewers with its detailed depiction of New York City in 1882 and the ensuing class struggle between George (Morgan Spector) and Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon), heads of a New Money family.

New York’s 19th-century high society was introduced to viewers via the eyes of Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) at the start of the Gilded Age. The show did well to focus on Peggy Scott’s (Denée Benton) identity as an African-American woman. The Gilded Age’s success stems, in part, from the servants of the Russells and Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski), who play the “downstairs” characters in a manner reminiscent to Downton Abbey.

While Mr. Russell has proven to be as ruthless in business as he is a loving husband and father, Bertha has worked tirelessly to have her family recognized by high society and its leader, Mrs. Astor (Donna Murphy), and has become a fan favorite. Fans of corset-clad drama in New York City and Newport, Rhode Island mansions need not wait long.

The big news is that two more famous actors have signed on to star in the show. Among them are Robert Sean Leonard (House, Dead Poet’s Society) and Laura Benanti (Tony Award winner for her role in The Help). Leonard’s character, the Reverend Matthew Forte, is the new rector of the church where the main protagonists worship.

Susan Bane, played by Benanti, is a widow who employs Larry Russell to design her Newport mansion. Nicole Brydon Bloom, Michael Braugher (as Booker T. Washington), Christopher Denham, David Furr, Ben Lamb, Matilda Lawler, Dakin Matthews, and Rebecca Haden are just a few of the new faces in season 2 of The Gilded Age.

Season 2 of The Gilded Age is Officially Confirmed

The Gilded Age will return for a second season on HBO, the network announced on February 14, 2022. The Gilded Age’s ratings had been very good for the network, even surpassing those of HBO’s success from 2021, The White Lotus. Fortunately, the writers and producers of The Gilded Age had already begun working on Season 2 when the renewal was announced.

With the return date for The Gilded Age fixed for 2022, season 2 production might begin that year. When the show was renewed, HBO’s executive VP of programming, Francesca Orsi, had nothing but love for it (as reported by The Digital Fix).

“Julian Fellowes and the entire Gilded Age family have thoroughly captivated us with their tale of late 19th-century New York City extravagance. Along with our partners at Universal Television, we couldn’t be prouder to embark on a season two journey with this extraordinarily talented team.”
