In Ghosted, an action romantic comedy available now on Apple TV+, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas appear to go across the world, but it’s all a trick of the camera. The cast and crew of “Ghosted” never ever left the United States. That’s what you get in Hollywood!
Ghosted is a romantic comedy directed by Dexter Fletcher (Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman) about a regular guy named Cole (Evans) who falls in love with a gorgeous girl named Sadie (de Armas) he meets at the farmer’s market. The date is one of those unforgettable experiences that changes both of their lives forever. Cole thinks he’s found the one. Finally, Sadie stops communicating with him altogether.
Sadie’s revelation that she is a CIA agent explains why she ghosts Cole. In the middle of a risky assignment in the Middle East, Cole finds himself trapped. While Cap can handle it, Cole is just a regular guy who happens to have big muscles and a good-looking face. Ghosted was sh0t primarily in Atlanta, while having several scenes that took place overseas. Continue reading to find out where they filmed Ghosted.
Where Did The Sh00ting Of Ghosted Took Place?
As reported by Decider, Ghosted, in which much of the action occurs in a foreign country, was sh0t entirely within the United States, largely in Atlanta, Georgia, and on location in Washington, DC. Many of the “foreign” settings were actually staged in Atlanta.
In an interview for the Ghosted production notes, production designer Claude Paré claimed that the Mingora Market, where the Marvel cameo sequence takes place in a Pakistani marketplace, was one of the most challenging sets to build. Six months were spent on the design and construction of the set.

“We built this wonderful market square in Atlanta, believe it or not,” Paré said. “The facades are crooked and shabby and almost falling apart, as if they were built in medieval times. One of the background players was from that part of the world and she said it made her feel right at home.”
The same may be said for the other Middle Eastern settings.“We sh0t it in Atlanta but it looks like the Middle East, with goats and camels and every kind of unique visual we could find,” said Paré. However, the movie’s most memorable scene, in which Ana de Armas drives a bus backwards in a high-speed car chase through the Middle Eastern desert, was actually sh0t in New Mexico and not in the Middle East.
“The beginning and ending of the 180 [chase scene] were done in New Mexico, where the stunt driver was actually able to crank it around,” said J.D. Schwalm, the visual effects coordinator, in an interview for the production notes. “The middle of that turn, where they’re going out over the cliff edge, was done in Atlanta on a big six-axis motion platform. We put the bus on top of a rig and then rotated it around in front of a blue screen.” You can see the official tweet by Ana de Armas daily below.

D@te scenes at The Wharf and Georgetown as well as the Lincoln book tower inside Ford’s Theatre are just a few examples of the many scenes set in Washington D.C. that were sh0t on location.
The film’s major climax, however, which takes place in a Washington, D.C. restaurant that rotates like an amusement park’s Graviton ride, was really sh0t in Atlanta. The filmmakers went to an amusement park to see the ride in person and learn more about it.
Producer Jules Daly commented in an interview for the production notes, “We wanted to see what it would feel like, how it would be if they tipped upside down, how you would aim a gun, or throw the Aztec device across the room. It sounds like a fun day at an amusement park, but that research informed what we could and couldn’t do in that sequence.”
