Eric Prydz Proper Education and Pjanoo
Prydz’s “Proper Education,” a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall, Part II,” was his next top single after “Call on Me.” After debuting at number one on Sweden’s singles chart at the end of 2006, the song was released in the UK in early 2007 and quickly rose to the number two spot there.
The remixed version of “Proper Education” was nominated for a Grammy. In 2008, Prydz had another hit with “Pjanoo,” which also did well in the UK, peaking at number two on the singles chart and number one on the dance chart for ten weeks.
Eric Prydz Further Releases
Prydz’s “Miami to Atlanta” song came out in 2009. It was the first time he used the Pryda snare, an effect that has become standard in trance and house to denote sections of a song’s progression. Eric Prydz presented Pryda, a three-disc compilation CD, in 2012. Afterward, he published his “PR(10)DA” project, which consisted of a string of EPs of unheard material.
The culmination of these efforts was the release of Prydz’s first studio album, Opus, in early 2016. The album’s tracks “Every Day,” “Liberate,” “Generate,” “Last Dragon,” and “Title Track” all did well commercially. Later EPs by Prydz followed “Opus,” with 2019’s “PR(15)DA” being among them.
As well as using his own name, Prydz has also gone by the alias Cirez D on multiple releases. His EP “Vol D” came out in the latter half of 2015. Besides Axor, Fiol Lasse, Hard form, and Tonja Holma, he has recorded music under a number of additional pseudonyms.
EPIC
Prydz’s extravagant shows, which feature state-of-the-art production values, have made him a household name among music fans. During his 2014 EPIC 3.0 debut at Madison Square Garden, he used a 20-meter-tall hologram, which at the time was the largest indoor hologram ever created. In 2019, for EPIC 6.0, Prydz upped the ante with a multistory transparent LED heliosphere made of 72 interlocking panels containing more than 2.4 million LEDs.
