One of the cutest Hollywood romances is about Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn. Even though they like to keep their relationship under wraps, the reclusive couple has revealed some information about their courtship over the years. After reconciling in New York City in 2015, Sheeran and Seaborn, who had known each other since they were children, began dating.
Sheeran and Seaborn married in a small, private wedding with approximately 40 guests in January 2018. When discussing the concert on the Table Manners with Jessie Ware podcast, Sheeran referred to it as a “tiny, tiny event,” explaining, “We did it at night on a random day in the middle of January in the middle of nowhere.” People didn’t hear about it or show up. We did a small ceremony with candles and then went back to the house for some curry.

Ed Sheeran’s Wife Is His Childhood Friend
Sheeran and Seaborn have known each other for a very long time; they originally became friends while attending Thomas Mills High School in Suffolk, England. However, there was never any romance between them in high school. If they had dated back then, Sheeran claimed in an interview with Dax Shepard for Armchair Expert, “it would have been a disaster.” You can see their immense love in the tweet below:

When Sheeran left on tour and Seaborn enrolled at Duke University in North Carolina, they stopped communicating. However, in 2015, the two got back together in New York City thanks to an invitation from a mutual acquaintance.
Cherry Seaborn Is A Professional Hockey Player
Technically, Seaborn works as a senior consultant in risk advice for the accountancy company Deloitte & Touche, as reported by DailyMail.com. The publication states that she attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where she majored in molecular biology and played forward for the university’s ice hockey team.

The university’s website states that she twice guided her side to a runner-up finish in the Investec English Woman’s Hockey League. Seaborn is still an active hockey player, in December 2019, Sheeran was observed cheering her on at practice.
Taylor Swift Is A Friend Of Cherry Seaborn
When Sheeran and Seaborn reconnected in New York in 2015, one of their first formal dates was at Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island residence. They first met during one of Swift’s famous July 4th celebrations.
Sheeran said to PEOPLE in 2017: “I went on tour again and then I went to Taylor’s Fourth of July party. We were both at 4th of July parties when I got a text from [Seaborn] saying, “I’m in Rhode Island.” I asked Taylor whether it would be okay to invite an old classmate. It’s all in the past now. One year later, at another one of Swift’s parties, the couple celebrated their anniversary.
