On Friday, in south Florida, at the Casino Miami, Adrien Broner made his ring return and promptly overcame Bill Hutchinson.
The 10-round fight ended in a unanimous decision for the former WBA super lightweight champion. The scores of 100-90, 99-91, and 99-91 all favored Broner, who was clearly the better fighter throughout.
Even boxing reporter Dan Rafael suggested that two rounds might have been too much for Hutchinson.
Did Adrien Broner Win Over Bill Hutchinson?
Yes!! Adrien Broner has defeated Bill Hutchinson in a unanimous decision in the 1st fight since he took a break, as reported by Bleacher Report. Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s protege Broner has hit hard times after a string of legal problems. Most recently, he served time in prison in October of 2021 for failing to attend an alcohol treatment program as required by the terms of his probation.
The 33-year-old had not fought since February 20, 2021, when he won a unanimous decision over Jovanie Santiago. After losing to Manny Pacquiao in January 2019, that fight marked his return to the ring after a two-year absence.

In order to concentrate on his mental health, Broner backed out of his August 2017 fight against Omar Figueroa Jr.
Dan Rafeal posted an official tweet with regard to the fight between Adrien Broner and Bill Hutchinson.
We go the scorecards in #BronerHutchinson: 100-90, 99-91, 99-91 all for the winner @AdrienBroner. Giving Hutchinson even one round is pathetic. Didn’t win one second much less one round. #boxing

Hutchinson’s fight with Broner will be his most high-profile fight to date. The 34-year-old native of Pittsburgh came into Saturday with a career record of 20-2-4. In his most recent bout, he defeated Rondale Hubbert by a score of 18-0 in January of 2022.
Broner said of Hutchinson to Fight Hub TV (via Jeff Sorby of Boxing News 247 ) that he “really doesn’t need to look at this guy” because he has been in the game for so long. “There’s really not a style that I haven’t seen before, honestly, with all the experience that I’ve got.”
Even though Broner’s technique of not studying his opponent was risky, it paid off for him because he won. In the run-up to the fight, he said he had his sights set on the WBC light welterweight champion, Regis Prograis.
Whether or not Broner succeeds in his goal of returning to the title picture after an extended absence remains to be seen, but he took the first step in that direction on Friday.
