David Adeleke was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 21, 1992, into a well-to-do Nigerian family. His father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, is the co-founder and CEO of Adeleke University in Osun State.
Before moving to the United States at the age of 16, he attended British International School in Lagos, Nigeria.
While attending Oakwood, Davido bought musical instruments and began making beats. His cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo also formed the band KB International.
For the sake of his music career, Davido dropped out of Oakwood University and headed for London.
After his return to Nigeria in 2011, he decided to attend Babcock University instead of continuing his singing career out of respect for his father.
