In 1947, Mike Krzyzewski was born in Chicago, Illinois to American parents. It is William and Emily Krzyzewski, who raised him. He went to St. Helena Catholic School and Archbishop Weber High School for his studies, respectively. On February 16, 2019, Mike became the most successful college basketball coach in the history of the sport, surpassing the previous record of Harry Statham, a former coach at the University of Oklahoma. In 2021, the Duke Blue Devils were denied entry to the NCAA tournament for the first time in their history. Mike announced his retirement on June 2, 2021, after a long coaching career that spanned more than two decades.

Carol “Mickey” Marsh is the wife of Mike Krzyzewski. At West Point, on the day of his graduation, he married Carol, the love of his life. Carol, Mike’s wife, and their three daughters live in their home. Nine great-grandchildren round up his family. Michael Savarino, one of his grandkids, traveled with the Duke Blue Devils in the 2019-20 season.
