Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001, so that makes it sixteen years old. Even though it’s been over ten years since the last installment, fans of the arena fighter are still passionate about the series.
Bandai Namco has announced that it will be hosting a Summer Showcase at this year’s Anime Expo, so we may finally get some details about the upcoming Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 at the event.
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 Might Be Shown In July
Even more so than with FighterZ, the unveiling of Budokai Tenkaichi 4 this year shook the Dragon (eyyy) Ball Z fanbase to its core. Bandai has a history of showcasing Dragon Ball games at Xbox’s Summer Showcase, but since then we have heard almost nothing about the game (other than the fact that it is reportedly titled Sparking Zero in Japan).
Dragon Ball fans are now left wondering when they will get another viewing opportunity. Summer Game Fest may be over, but thankfully we have Anime Expo to look forward to in a few of days. Bandai Namco has announced that it will be present at Anime Expo on July 1 with a dedicated gaming presentation, as pointed out by Twitter user NinjaStormCo, who has previously released details on Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections. If you haven’t seen the official tweet by NinjaStormCo, then check it out below.

The official Anime Expo schedule states that Bandai will be holding an hour-long demonstration titled “Bandai Namco Entertainment Summer Showcase 2023” to discuss upcoming video games. Despite the fact that no games have been officially announced for the showcase, there are a few leading candidates.
Sand Land and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, both of which were featured at this year’s Summer Game Fest, are two games that are virtually guaranteed to be present. There are a few other viable options, but with a running time of over an hour, it’s safe to assume that there will be further major games.
Although Bandai Namco has been unusually silent regarding Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4 since its reveal over six months ago, the game still has a good chance of making an appearance at Anime Expo. Although it was unexpectedly unveiled at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023, the event is significant enough to warrant a demonstration of the game. It has also been confirmed that Budokai Tenkaichi game creators Spike Chunsoft will be present at Anime Expo.
