On Monday night, running back Bo Scarbrough allegedly shattered a bone in his right leg in the third quarter of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game between Clemson and Alabama.
Scarbrough was “limping noticeably” when he made his way to the team bus after the game, according to Chris Low of ESPN, who broke the news on Tuesday. Scarbrough entered the Alabama locker room on Monday and immediately headed to the medical tent.
On Monday night, the sophomore was Alabama’s hardest-to-stop offensive weapon, rushing for 93 yards and two touchdowns on 16 attempts.
Scarbrough demonstrated on the biggest platform in the country how powerful he can be when given regular playing time. Scarbrough gained 180 yards, and two more touchdowns on 19 carries during the Peach Bowl matchup with Washington.
The 6’2″, 228-pound running back’s fantastic combination of power and quickness makes him a challenging athlete to account for in-game plans.
