Armie Hammer Has Revealed That He Was A Victim Of Physical Abuse

Hammer, 36, is speaking up about the physical assault allegations that have plagued his career as a Hollywood actor for just over two years in a new interview with Air Mail, according to Hollywood Reporter.

While he denies any criminal activity, the actor of The Social Network does acknowledge to being emotionally violent towards ex-partners in the lengthy statement responding to physical assault charges against him.

Once the physical abuse claims scandal broke in February 2021, Hammer revealed for the first time that he had suicide thoughts and had been physically molested as a child.

Hammer said in an interview with Air Mail that he was molested by a youth pastor when he was 13 years old. Hammer claims this experience of torture inspired his interest in inappropriate stuff.

Hammer said, “What that did for me was it introduced s**uality into my life in a way that it was completely out of my control. I was powerless in the situation. I had no agency in the situation.  S**uality was introduced to me in a scary way where I had no control. My interests then went to: I want to have control in the situation, s**ually.”

According to Air Mail, Hammer confided in an elderly friend who has since passed away and his godmother, Candace Garvey, who confirmed the story to the publication about the purported childhood tragedy.

When asked about his reported suicide attempt following the publication of the charges against him, the actor said,  “I just walked out into the ocean and swam out as far as I could and hoped that either I drowned, or was hit by a boat, or eaten by a shark. Then I realised that my kids were still on shore, and that I couldn’t do that to my kids.”

In January 2021, multiple women came forward with allegations of misbehaviour against Hammer and posted screenshots of purported messages from the singer based around inappropriate subjects.

Nevertheless, the Air Mail article reports that Effie lied about having an affair with Hammer’s ex-wife, saying that she only had a casual relationship with him and that she was “very much chasing him.” You can check the tweet below with regard to the above mentioned messages.

Meanwhile, Air Mail reported, days before the Hammer story emerged, that Effie had sent a private Instagram message to a fan claiming that the intercourse she had with Hammer was incredible.

According to the source, the next day, when another follower questioned if she had “legal representation,” Effie responded, “I’m not saying he assaulted me, no need for legal rep.”

Although Effie later claimed that Hammer physically assaulted her, Hammer insisted to Air Mail that the physical encounter Effie called an assault was really a “scene” that had been arranged in advance.

Hammer alleged, “She planned all of the details out, all the way down to what Starbucks I would see her at, how I would follow her home, how her front door would be open and unlocked and I would come in, and we would engage in what is called a ‘consensual non-consent scene,’ CNC. Every single thing was discussed beforehand. I have never thrust this on someone unexpectedly. Never.”

Hammer also answered the claims of Paige Lorenze and Courtney Vucekovich, two other women he dated. Vucekovich appeared in the Discovery+ docuseries House of Hammer, which was about Hammer.

Air Mail says that Hammer went to rehab at the end of May 2021 for drug and alcohol abuse. “I’m now a healthier, happier, more balanced person. I’m able to be there for my kids in a way I never was. I’m able to be there for my dad as he’s dying in a way that I would have never been able to be,” he said.

Hammer later verified to Vanity Fair that Robert Downey Jr. visited him in recovery and offered his support.

Hammer said, “There are examples everywhere, Robert being one of them, of people who went through those things and found redemption through a new path. And that, I feel like, is what’s missing in this cancel-culture, woke-mob business. The minute anyone does anything wrong, they’re thrown away. There’s no chance for rehabilitation.”
