The rank distribution is one of the biggest issues that will be addressed since Respawn realizes that far too many players have climbed to the top of the ladder this season. So, here is a list of every change Season 18 Ranked will bring:
- To counteract the overall shift in the rank distribution, the average LP gains per match have been decreased.
- To correctly dial in the top of the ladder, a set of regulations that only apply to Diamond+.
- The stakes and losses for players in these layered tiers will be higher, and the rating benefits and loss mitigations will be less.
- Based on the player’s MMR, the minimum elimination bonus increases, as does the overall boosting elimination bonus.
- Increased ring action by modifying ring damage.
- Ring timings have been altered to produce more mid-game encounters and fewer lulls before the final match.
- Matchmaking has been improved to manage players that actively challenge their MMR for more intensely contested matches that reflect their rating.
Many of these new Ranked adjustments are exactly what the community wanted, but we won’t know how much of an impact they will have on the competitive mode until August.
