Since about 1670, generations of his family have made their home in Martha’s Vineyard.
The Beetlebung Farm Was Originally Owned By His Family
Thus, his cookbook is titled “A Year of Cooking on Martha’s Vineyard: The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook.”
Chris’s family has owned Beetlebung Farm on Martha’s Vineyard since the 1960s, despite the farm’s 250-year history on the island. Chris’s grandfather had been the farm’s main worker, but after he went away, Chris took up the farm’s upkeep. He has also kept bunnies and at least one goat on his farm.

He Owns Several Restaurants And Has Been On Many TV Shows
Chris spent many years working at Babbo in New York City (after stints in Rome and London on the side, for fun), before launching a restaurant at the Beach Plum Inn and eventually founding The Covington in his home state of Massachusetts.
Chris has been on several television projects in addition to his restaurant career, including Amy Schumer Learns to Cook, which debuted on Food Network in May 2020 and was nominated for an Emmy. Of course, Chris also played a significant role in Amy’s film, Expecting Amy.

He Has Been Completely Forthright About His Autism
In the movie Expecting Amy, Chris and Amy talk about his diagnosis, and Chris says to Amy, “You have paid attention to my behaviour in a way that nobody has before and noticed things because you’re very observant and kind of put the pieces together.”
Another Instagram post from Amy read: “People have reached out to us saying that seeing our doc #expectingamy motivated them to get tested and that it has changed their lives. We want to encourage parents and people to give themselves the gift of information so people can function to the best of their abilities and remove any stigma that comes with autism.” She also noted, “Statistically our son most likely will be diagnosed as well, and if he’s anything like his father, that is wonderful news.”
A Legendary Proposal By Chris Fischer
Amy claimed to people that Chris proposed to her while she was sleeping with earplugs and a face mask on. He woke her up and said, “I got you this.” Amy reportedly texted her friends and family, “I’m getting married on Tuesday, I hope you can come,” after only a few days of wedding planning.
