Alex Edelman, who co-wrote and appears in Just For Us with Brace, expressed his shock and sadness at the news of Brace’s passing on Tuesday through Twitter, describing it as “ludicrously unfair.”

He went on to say, “He was my closest collaborator for more than a decade, but more importantly, he was one of my closest friends, I don’t feel ready to acknowledge the magnitude of this loss, but I already feel it.”

In a subsequent tweet, Edelman remarked, “Adam’s laugh was distinctive and deep and my favorite sound. Along with the words I sought it out again and again,” he included a video of the irresistible laughter he was describing.

After saying, “I was lucky to spend so much time with him, especially over the last year and a half, and I am distraught at the prospect of doing the show without him on Broadway,” he said, “If I’m being honest, I’m not sure what kind of performer – and person – I’m going be without him.”

Another of Edelman’s tweets read, “His death isn’t just a profound loss to the acts he worked with, his partner Becca, and his loving family, but also audiences who will now be deprived of the precision, joy, and dynamism that he brought out of everyone who was lucky enough to collaborate with him.”

In addition, he posted a photo of the two of them strolling through the snow together with the caption, “I am bereft.” In honor of his friend, Edelman posted a slideshow of photographs and videos from Brace’s life to Instagram on Tuesday. He added, “I miss him terribly already,” to the emotional post. Many famous people, such as Julianne Hough, Maude Apatow, Uzo Aduba, and more, left encouraging comments for Edelman.
